Increasing Traffic To Your Website

The big buzz surrounding having your website optimized for search
engines is the increase in traffic to your site. SEO is one of many options
of increasing traffic, but can your business handle the increase?

Are you staffed well enough to service the potential demand that a
boom in traffic could bring?

Increasing traffic to your site should be planned in accordance to what
your business can handle. If you're a small to medium sized business you
should be chasing small to medium size traffic numbers.

A gradual increase in traffic is much like the gradual growth of your business.
It allows you to adjust to meet the supply and demand.

Another area related to traffic that you should look at is the ratio of
sales/leads you get per unique visitor to your site. A popular ratio
is 1:100. The ratio I like to use is 1:250. Those numbers are a pretty
good indication to how well your site is structured to convert site visits
into sales/leads. It's when you see 1:500 to 1:1000 and over that you may
want to change the content and structure of your site.
